West End Live 2011

West End Live 2011 will be bigger and better than ever in 2011, taking place in London's Trafalgar Square

Dates and location for the seventh annual West End Live, the world's largest free theatre festival, have been announced with the event being staged on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June 2011 in Trafalgar Square, London.

The free theatre festival, which is organised by Westminster City Council and supported by the Society of London Theatre, will be relocated to Trafalgar Square due to the renovation of Leicester Square, where the event took place last year and years before.

Last year's West End Live attracted nearly a quarter of a million visitors over the two day weekend.

Performances included Sweet Charity, Billy Elliot, Wicked, Hair, Chicago, Love Never Dies, Avenue Q, Sister Act, Grease, Mamma Mia!, Stomp, Dirty Dancing, Thriller Live and We Will Rock You.

West End LIVE 2010 - DATES

West End LIVE 2010 will be taking place on Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th of June this year.

West End LIVE 2010 is a FREE musical theatre event held annually in London’s Leicester Square.

Last year the line-up of performances included hit shows Chicago, Jersey Boys, Wicked, Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage, We Will Rock You, Avenue Q, Thriller Live, Oliver! and Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical. This year’s selection of shows promises to be even bigger and better.

West End Live 2010 Lineup

The current line up will consist of a record breaking 22 musicals confirmed to be represented over the two days:

West End Live 2009

West End Live, the world’s largest free theatre festival in the heart of London, was a huge success in 2009 - with more than 250,000 people visiting Leicester Square over the weekend of June 20th – 21st. As ever, entry to the event and all the activites was free. Highlights included performances by talk-show host Jerry Springer in his debut West End role as razzmatazz lawyer Billy Flynn in the hit show Chicago and the BBC’s I’d Do Anything winner Jodie Prenger, performed as Nancy in Lionel Barts classic Oliver!

Crowds also saw great performances from Jersey Boys, Wicked, We Will Rock You, Dirty Dancing, Avenue Q, Thriller Live, Stomp, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and Sister Act.
