Review
Review of Ghost Stories by http://www.thetraveltart.com/
I checked out Ghost Stories when I stopped over in London recently and I enjoyed it simply because it breaks the mould of what a play should be. Most people go to the London West End Theatre district to check famous plays such as The Phantom of The Opera, but Ghost Stories smashes all of these pre-conceptions of a West End play. I'm not usually one that goes for the horror genre, but I enjoyed this offbeat version of a play.
Ghost Stories is portrayed effectively because the creators use a clever mix of dim lighting, sudden loud noises, and carefully built up suspense. I'm not usually scared by horror movies as such, but there were some instances where I was feeling quite tense from the carefully created scenes.
In fact, one woman sitting behind me was so tense, that there was a part involving an opening door which made her scream F**@ me!</p>
Unfortunately, she was the only person in the audience to say this, hence the entire crowed burst into laughter!
- Described by The Telegraph as “Brilliant and deeply unsettling”.
