Dreamboats & Petticoats is a hit musical inspired by an album of 60’s pop classics.

Previously at the Savoy Theatre until December 2009, then moved to London’s Playhouse Theatre opening on the 6th January 2010.

Emotions run high as talented young musicians Norman and Bobby compete to win the hearts of their adoring female fans – and more importantly, the gorgeous Laura.

But when Laura shows that she's no slouch with the guitar, rock'n'roll fame beckons..... Dreamboats and Petticoats at the Playhouse Theatre

Inspired by the albums of the same name, Dreamboats and Petticoats is a rocking musical written by Marks and Gran, the team behind Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds Of A Feather, and Shine On Harvey Moon.

Dreamboats and Petticoats features songs from Roy Orbison, The Shadows, Eddie Cochran, Billy Fury, Chuck Berry and many more from music's golden era.

Sam Attwater

Ex-EastEnders actor and this year’s Dancing on Ice Winner Sam Attwater is joining the cast of Dreamboats & Petticoats at the Playhouse Theatre in London’s West End playing the lovable rogue Norman from 18th July 2011

Attwater has appeared in musicals including Tonight's the Night, 12 Tenors, 20th Century Boy, and Our Benny. He also appeared as a dancer in Bollywood film Jhoom Barabar Jhoom

His debut EP, Breaking Boundaries, was released on 24th January 2011.

Sam Attwater won the sixth series of ITV’s Dancing on Ice in March this year, is to play self-assured musician Norman from 18 July 2011 at the Playhouse Theatre.


Tony Christie

Is This The Way To Amarillo singer Tony Christie is to make his West End debut this summer, when he joins Dreamboats And Petticoats on 5 July

Tony Christie will play Older Bobby and Phil (Bobby’s father) in the jukebox musical that features a host of hits from the 1950s and 1960s, including Bobby’s Girl, Runaround Sue, C’Mon Everybody and Let’s Twist Again.

I saw the show’s original opening night in London almost a year ago and just loved the story,
And of course the music is incredible – The Platters, Phil Spector, Roy Orbison, Marty Wilde 
all artists I grew up listening to. As soon as I saw it I’ve been searching for a gap in my diary to join the show.

Dreamboats And Petticoats credits

Written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the show is set in 1961 and features songs from the period by Eddie Cochran, Billy Fury, Roy Orbison, The Shadows and Chuck Berry. The show received favourable notices from the press when it first opened in the spring. Charles Spencer from The Telegraph wrote: "I confess I loved every moment of this show."

A nostalgic trip down memory lane, Dreamboats and Petticoats opens at The Playhouse Theatre on 6 January, 2010.
